Total Body Irradiation

Characteristics

Newly developed, rotatable tabletop including the corresponding adapter for VMAT Total Body Irradiation (TBI)
treatment. The system makes it possible to perform total-body irradiation at the linear accelerator in VMAT technique with homogeneous dose distribution within the target volume. This makes it possible to reduce the dose to healthy tissue and organs at risk without individual, external shielding. It consists of a table top and an adapter that allows the table top to be rotated from a head-first to a feet-first position without having to move the patient. This reduces the risk of field overlap to a minimum.
The tabletop can be used on both the CT and the linear accelerator. The integrated indexing system supports optimal
reproducibility of patient positioning by means of positioning aids
